Dr. Kristen Carlin

PT, DPT, OCS, CLT, CF-L1, Cert-DN, Owner of Evoke Physio

Dr. Kristen Carlin, PT, DPT, OCS, CLT, CF-L1, Cert-DN, is the owner of Evoke Physio and a Pittsburgh native. She earned her BS from James Madison University in 2005, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Chatham University in 2007.  She is a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, CrossFit Level 1 trainer, and certified in upper and lower extremity dry needling.  Dr. Carlin has extensive training in differential diagnostic evaluation as well as current, evidenced-based advanced manual therapy techniques. She has uniquely blended her experience in fitness with her expertise in orthopedic physical therapy to provide her clients with a fitness-forward approach to orthopedic pain and problems. She has special interest in treatment of neck and back pain, as well as management of the fitness athlete. In addition to her work at Evoke Physio, she enjoys teaching as adjunct faculty for Chatham University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program.  Dr. Carlin is an active member and resident of the Fox Chapel Community who enjoys outdoor activities and sports with her husband and 3 school-age children.

Dr. Alex Schoppen

PT, DPT, CSCS, BRM

Alex is a Pittsburgh native, and Central Catholic graduate who pursued both his academic and athletic career at Chatham University where he played varsity basketball and received a B.S in Exercise Science. He then went on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Chatham University. His clinical background boasts extensive experience in orthopedic physical therapy and he holds a certification in Barbell Rehab Method and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is passionate about combining his background in strength and conditioning with his orthopedic skill set to yield top results for his fitness and physical therapy clients. Alex has been seeing clients at Evoke on a part time basis for nearly a year, and is excited to move into a full time role. He will be offering morning, daytime, and evening appointments as well as Saturday morning classes and private sessions. Alex lives in Shaler, and enjoys all sports, especially basketball and golf in his free time.

Dr. Valerie Snow

PT, DPT, USAW-L1 Coach, CF-L1 Coach

Valerie received her B.A. from La Roche University where she pursued her passion for dance, dancing professionally with Bodiography Contemporary Ballet Company throughout her undergraduate tenure. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has extensive experience working with dancers, CrossFit athletes, as well as all other types of recreational athletes both from a PT standpoint as well as in the wellness/fitness/coaching space. She holds certifications in USA Weightlifting level 1, CrossFit Level I training, and Bodiography Dance Movement Therapy. Valerie lives in Gibsonia with her husband and 3 dogs and enjoys running at North Park in her free time. Valerie will be working at Evoke 20-25 hours per week, primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Dr. Jake DeMedal

PT, DPT

Jake received his B.S. in Exercise Science from Saint Francis University where he played Division I football throughout his undergraduate tenure. He then pursued his Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree also from Saint Francis. He has extensive experience in orthopedic physical therapy in several outpatient clinical settings, most recently with Drayer Physical Therapy in Blawnox. Jake has special interest in treating back pain as well as helping athletes of all ages return to sport and higher level activities. He will be helping on a part-time basis to coach our Tuesday/Thursday 6 am Evoke Strength Classes and will be taking on a few private PT/training clients as well on Tuesday/Thursday mornings. Jake lives in Seven Fields with his wife and baby daughter.
